Bee Health & Research
Can controlled heat suppress Varroa without adding a miticide? A closer look at thermotherapy, brood and reproductive risks, misleading percentages and careful observation in a natural apiary.

4H Method
A healthy colony can shoulder real cold. What it cannot survive is a wet hive. How to winter with heavy natural stores, a respected propolis envelope and dry air — and why the bees' own preparations matter more than ours.

4H Method
Collect only what the bees can spare. Why carefully gathered pollen fits the 4H closed-loop apiary, how to protect the colony’s food, and where commercial patties still have a place.

4H Method
What 4H stands for, why the four belong together, and how a closed-loop apiary invites beekeepers, families and the curious into a deeper connection with bees and nature.

4H Method
The first H is not a feeling we assign to bees. It is a beekeeper’s reading of behaviour, space, forage and unnecessary disturbance.

The second H follows population, queen performance and local survival. Preserve the propolis envelope—but let evidence, not wishful thinking, guide care.

4H Method
The third H is not just a heavy harvest. It is abundant winter stores, a generous true surplus and a colony strong enough to build again in spring.

Local pollinators
From a sleeping adult in a cocoon to a busy spring nester sealing mud walls—how one mason bee generation unfolds across a single year.

Woodware & comb care
A practical first build: compatible boxes and frames, sound joints, untreated interiors and repairs that serve the bees—not just the workshop.

Honey, wax & pollen processing
Keep the bees’ winter food first, check honey moisture, work cleanly and bottle a traceable raw harvest without repeated filtering or production heating.

Beeginner Beekeeping
Begin with curiosity, a local mentor and a realistic plan. Your first season is about building a colony that can enter winter well, not filling jars.

Beeginner Beekeeping
Ask a local beekeeper for a healthy, established colony with a laying queen and a documented history. Good genetics need evidence, not just a label.
